Ko Te Wiki o te Reo Māori - Māori Language Week

This week is Māori Language Week. At MercyAscot, we support the use of te reo at all times, and Te Wiki o te Reo Māori is a great reminder to practice. We are inviting everyone to celebrate this beautiful language.

On 14 September 1972, the Māori Language Petition was presented to Parliament, on the first Māori Language Day. Three years later, it became what we now know as Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, inspiring New Zealanders to speak te reo Māori proudly.

By engaging in learning new words and phrases, we are positively embracing te reo Māori at MercyAscot.

If you are going to visit us during this week, you are warmly invited to celebrate te reo with us, too. Ka kite anō.
