Aimee Bourke joins MercyAscot as Chief Operating Officer  

We are pleased to announce that Aimee Bourke has joined us as MercyAscot’s Chief Operating Officer. Aimee is responsible for the operational leadership of our inpatient wards, operating rooms, endoscopy, pharmacy, afterhours advanced nursing team, and clinical the learning and development team.  She will be working closely with our hospital General Managers, her operational leaders, and the Chief Nurse to identify opportunities for improved care for our patients and to create a place our specialists prefer to work and for our staff to have exceptional careers. 

Aimee is passionate about the New Zealand healthcare system and fostering the ability for all New Zealanders to have the best possible access to care. 

She brings almost 20 years of experience in the healthcare sector, having an excellent understanding of local and international healthcare systems as well as expertise in developing and implementing strategies to improve the quality, cost and experience of patient care.  

Aimee comes to us from within the Healthcare Holdings Limited (HHL) Group where she has been General Manager for Auckland Radiation Oncology (ARO), where she worked closely with an expert cancer care team to provide patients with individualised treatment pathways to the highest standards of clinical skill. Prior to joining ARO, Aimee spent 17 years at Southern Cross in a variety of roles, including growing and leading the Southern Cross Affiliated Provider programme.
